On April 28,2021, Ms. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Chengdu and Mr. Waruntorn Kochtaropas paid a specialvisit to the Yibin Campus of Gingko College of Hospitality Management. Dean Wei Zhao, utive Dean Yang Longtao, Vice Dean Fu Jing and General Manager Huang Guoquan of the teaching hotel received the guests. Chen Yuanhua, Deputy Secretary of the Nanxi District Committee of Yibin City and nominee of District Mayor of Nanxi District Government; Li Debin, member of the Standing Committee of Nanxi District Committee and Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee; Wan Min,Deputy District Mayor of Nanxi District Government, and related leaders from Bureau of Economic Cooperation and Foreign Affairs of Nanxi District as well as Education and Sports Bureau of Nanxi District participated in the visit.
The leaders of Gingko College introduced to the guests that the college takes the initiative to integrate the national “Belt and Road Initiative” and the idea of international development based on Sichuan Province’s “Southoriented” all-roundopening-up strategy. Besides, they also introduced the exchanges and cooperation with Chiang Mai University (CMU), Prince Of Songkla University(PSU), Dusit Thai College (DTC) and other Thai universities. Zhang Shuzhen expressed her appreciation for the efforts and achievements made by Gingko College in promoting the friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between Chinese and Thai universities.
Zhang Shuzhen and her delegation attended the cloud signing ceremony of cooperation between Gingko College of Hospitality Management and National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) of Thailand. Dr. Wei Zhao, Dean of Gingko College, and Prof. Dr. Kamphol Panyakometh, President of National Institute of Development Administration of Thailand, signed the framework agreement on friendly cooperation at the university level on behalf of both sides. Meanwhile, Prof. Wang Lei, Head of Financial Management Department, signed acooperation agreement for college-level projects with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amornrat Apinunmahakul, Dean of Graduate School of Development Economics, National Institute of Development Administration of Thailand. According to the agreement, two sides will cooperate in the promotion of academic qualifications, the construction of teachers' specialization, the training of teachers, academic research and so on.
Afterwards, Zhang Shuzhen and her delegation attended the special academic seminar held by Gingko College and listened to the research team led by Dr. Fu Jing (Associate Professor), Deputy Dean of Gingko College, on the sub-project of Thailand Science Research and Innovation in 2020, who made a research statement entitled “A survey on the tendency of Chinese tourists to travel abroad to Thailand in the post-epidemic period”.
Zhang Shuzhen and her delegation also paid a visit to Gingko College's vocational training courses on hotel and cooking, and communicated with the utive chef of Chinese and western food in the teaching hotel, and agreed with the college's teachingphilosophy of continuously innovating while carrying forward traditions, as well as its training for international standards and serving local areas.
On the afternoon of the same day, Consul Wan Kepeng gave an academic lecture titled “Global Resort─New Normalof Wellness Tourism in Thailand”to the teachers and students of Gingko College of Hospitality Management in amixed way of online and offline. Taking the 35th ASEAN Summit as an example and combining with his VIP service experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, he brought a vivid sharing of foreign affairs etiquette to the teachers and students.
During the visit, Zhang Shuzhen and her delegation also visited the Experimental Center of Yibin Campus of Gingko College and spoke highly of the high-quality education and teaching environment created by Gingko College for cultivating high-quality applied talents.
