Yinxing College’s women's rugby team fought hard to securean impressive fourth-place finish at the 11th China University Rugby SevensChampionship in Rongcheng, Shandong, bringing new glory to the university'ssports program.

The national tournament, organized by the Chinese RugbyAssociation and hosted by Rongcheng's Education and Sports Bureau, featured 31university teams (465 athletes) across five competitive divisions. Competing inthe elite Women's Division D, our athletes went head-to-head with top programsincluding Shandong Sport University and Nanjing Sport Institute.

Led by Dean Yang Cheng of the School of Leisure and Sportsand coached by Hou Siqi, the team entered competition mode immediately uponarrival. After intensive preparation and warm-ups, the players battled throughthree grueling days of matches from July 10-12 to reach the semifinals.

The bronze medal match against Shanxi University became aninstant classic - a fiercely contested showdown where every point was earnedthrough smart plays and sheer determination. Though narrowly missing thepodium, our team's technical skill and never-give-up attitude earned widespreadrespect from spectators and opponents alike.

This outstanding achievement reflects the team's year-rounddedication and embodies the true spirit of competitive sports. Theirperformance has set a new standard for Yinxing College’s athletics whileinspiring future generations of student-athletes.
