The College Invited to 2019 Cooperation Symposium on New Liberal Arts, Double First Class and Cross-school & Cross-college Joint Talent Cultivation

From October 23 to 26, the College was invited to the 2019 Cooperation Symposium on New Liberal Arts and Cross-school & Cross-college Joint Talent Cultivation held by the South China Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Yuan Ding, vice president of the College, leading a delegation including the other three representatives from the Continuing Education Division and the International Cooperation Office, was invited to this cooperation symposium.


Before the cooperation symposium was convened, Zhong Lirong, academic director of the South China Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, warmly received the delegation led by Yuan Ding and held an exchange meeting during which the two parties had an in-depth discussion on the recruitment, management and curriculum provision of international students and reached the initial intention of cooperation. After that, the delegation led by Yuan Ding visited the campus under the guidance of Chen Yangyang, the project director of the South China Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University.

During the cooperation symposium, Prof. Niu Huayong, utive dean of the South China Institute of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Prof. Chen Hangzhu, utive deputy director of the Center for German Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Zhou Li, lecturer of the School of Management of Chongqing Technology and Business University, gave a speech respectively on three topics i.e. "new business studies" construction and the international development trend of economic management program, the international exchange and cooperation of universities and colleges, and "cross-cultural & cross-regional" international business talent as the historical responsibility given to colleges and universities by the times. Followed by that, the participants of the symposium conducted a discussion on the theme "suggestions for and exploration of the development of the academic visit in China", hosted by Niu Huayong.

In this symposium, the College's delegation and the participating sister colleges implemented in-depth exchanges and discussions and have reached a consensus on the new liberal arts, "double first class" (world first class university and first class academic discipline construction) and cross-school & cross-college joint talent cultivation. The College will further strengthen its cooperation with relevant colleges to jointly explore new cross-school talent cultivating models.
